Best way to make my filenames Search Engine Friendly

I am concerned about how to make my filenames as Search Engine Friendly as possible.

Let's say that I have a page about the Los Angeles olympics.

Does it make any difference if I use underscores to separate words in my page filenames

    http://www.OlympicCentral.com/1984_los_angeles_olympics

    or dashes

I do know its generally a good idea to stay all lowercase with the file names.

But, Which is better with the Search Engines? Underscores or Dashes?

    Or, Does it really matter?

    Thanks! :)

Some se analysts will say one, some will say the other and some will say no difference. It seems at the moment they are leaning towards the dashes. Since I optimize my pages with the words correctly done, I do my names with no spaces. You'd be amazed how many people search that way and I then come up first :)

The page name is important, but only one of many things to use. So, use which one you prefer in this instance.
