Is it possible to have a server type thing built into the website so people can download things from it eg: someone goes on to my website, and then they click on a link and they download a text document etc?

How do you set up this downloading? Is it that blueFTP? And is this server encrypt because i would want the site and downloads to be secure against hackers. And are the downloads average download speed?
