text in a separate scroll box

I want to place (a rather large body of) text in his own scroll box on the screen. Not a form, not a table, but just some text with a scroll bar on the site as a separate element on the page. I cannot find a solution for this. Is there one in BlueVoda?

Have a look at I-Frames, that should do what you want.

If you want the text itself to scroll you could try using the "Marquee" feature in Blue Voda ...

            Dear general Larazovich,
            Thank for the tip.
Ok, I have made an I-frame on my page. On a new blank page I placed my text (a BVP page).Within the I-frame I referred to this page, with the address. But in preview the only message was that the page could not be found. I tried it again, but with a HTML page, with the same result.
            Two questions:
            1. Is this the only way to do this (there must be an easier way, many website builders must want such a frame, I suppose) and
            2. will I be able to see and adjust the contents of my I-frame after I published the whole website?
marc (that is a "he" last time I looked)

              Hi Mark (he),

Open this thread, then have a look at posts 5 and 6. I hope it will help. I think it answers both your questions.

To edit the text afterwards, simply edit the original text in the i-frame source page >> save >> publish.
              Bless you
              Tom

Re: text in a separate scroll box

Hi, you will only see the contents in the iframe when the page that is to appear in the iframe is published & live on the net.
As a tester, Try putting http://www.google.co.uk as the frame opening page & it should work.
                Regards Chris.

                  Dear Tom,

Thank you for your reaction. On your webpage I saw the 'Quick Find" box. That is what I meant. Did you make this with an I-frame? And refered to a page with the hyperlinks in it?

                  Marc

And if you are form South Africa, do you speak Dutch as well?

                    Hi Marc,

Looks like I forgot to give you link. Here it is Adding Scrollable Texts . See posts 5 and 6.

Yes that Quick Find on my home page was created using an i-frame. Chris' explanation is also explained in detail in the above link.

Dutch? I'm not a Dutchman as some are refering to us Afrikaans speaking chaps. Ja ek is 'n bloubloed Afrikaner. We had some Dutch presribed work on school, but that is more than 30 year ago. I do understand the language a bit, but speaking it? no not really.

                    Have good one.
                    Bless you
                    Tom
