GreyBox and similiar...

Is anyone familiar with GreyBox or any app like it? I was trying to install and use on a page, couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.

I looked at it and it seems alot like lightbox (which BV already has) only this seems faster and it has a bar on the top of the page.....

although collectors-info posted a better version of light box here:

This has got some real nice ways of grouping images/pages & much more. Will have to give us a day or so to see how it all works. Took me ages to find the java download file that makes it all work.lol

Hi, from what I can make out so far is not to hard to install? So I will put it in a few steps
Part 1
Is go to this page http://orangoo.com/labs/GreyBox & click on the download button at the top of the page.
You will get this folder as a download. GreyBox_v5_51\GreyBox_v5_51
Open this folder & you will see a folder called grey box. Upload this one folder to the directory you will have the page that is going to show your images.

Part 2.
Open your BV page & put this code below in the head area of the page, remembering to change the mydomain.com part to your own sites url.

Part 3.
Go to this page http://orangoo.com/labs/greybox/normal_usage.html & choose which type/style of link you want to open the light box/grey box? & amend to your image urls. Then place in a BV html box.

Part 4.
Publish & test. (Wont work with BV preview. Must be from the server)

PS. Nice thing I noticed is that you can group images with different links. So if you had a page full of images of men & woman, you can set the links up to have an image show of one or the other.

It does create a side scroll bar in IE....
and you have to side scroll in order to get to the exit cross.

ps. I knew you could do this one. :)

pps. what do you think is the best method?

ppss. I am looking to use something like this for my product pics. is there any way to mouseover/mouseout on something like this?

I didn't include URL because technically I don't have one. I haven't published yet (reason I couldn't get this to work?!), I was just able to transfer my domain as of today. Am waiting for that, and a few issues like this topic, which I really want to dress up my site.

I'll look forward to any other ideas you ome up with for this, and will inform when I'm ready to go LIVE!

Hi, simple problem solved with the header going wide in IE.
In the CSS file gb_styles.css Change the 100% header to 96% and all should be fine.
}

.GB_header table {
margin: 0;
width: 96%;
border-collapse: collapse;
}

That is fantastic! I've gotten sidetracked with other parts of my monster (I'm beginning to feel like Dr. Frankenstein, an image from here, a script from there, I just hope it doesn't drown any children when I'm done!), but I can't wait to get back to the GB!
