    Yo, Collectors!

In implementing the GreyBox, I have one text link in which only the underline itself is linked, you must have cursor directly on line, not text, to engage link. Did you run across anything like this when you were testing?

        hey collector,

I took another look at your test page posted on 08/29.
        (hope you don't mind)

It looks like you have done some amazing things with this.
and it all loads really quickly.

great job, can't wait to see what else you can do with it......
if you'll be so kind to let us see. :)

          Re: GreyBox and similiar...

          collectors-info,

I have a few questions on your test of greybox if you could please help.

I want to use this to display my products 1 gallery just being the front and back of the item.

          1) On the gallery images if you scroll down the page the image doesn't scroll with you only the top bar does.
But, on the google, youtube, and your album the whole thing scrolls with the page.
How do I make gallery images scroll with the page?

          2) In your album the picture of the giraffe has a link under the picture.
Can I add an "add to cart" link or button like this to a gallery, if so how?

          3) How did you add this to your thumbnail?

4)would I have to have a thumb nail or link on the page to show the second picture or could I show the second picture without having a link?

          5) Is there a way to add a detailed description the the picture.
And, (if I can add an "add to cart" link or button) is there a way to add the description on the right corner of the image also?

          I know I'm asking ALOT...
But, if you could answer these it would be a HUGE help.

          Thanks in advance.

            Re: GreyBox and similiar...

            Hi,
            1. The way the page is displays is via which choice of the type of link you use of these pages.

            2. The photo album with the giraffe is a completely separate bit of software that is on its own page. This one is not a freebie. This will also relate to 3/4/5

            Good luck.
            Regards Chris.

              Re: GreyBox and similiar...

Thanks for getting back to me... and doing it so quick.

I didn't really want the album I just wanted to add a link and/or description.....
But if I can't ohh well

I did look at these links prior to posting but all of the image types have the same problem with scrolling

also, I don't know how to add it to a thumbnail...
If I can't I'll just make them front/back links under the thumbnail I guess

              Thanks again

                Re: GreyBox and similiar...

                Hi again Chris,

Had to go away for awhile (work, not prison), but back to that weird link. I have published the page for your viewing pleasure www.spikeslife.com/lounge.html , you'll see the link I'm talking about in the "Cocktail Corner" section, bottom, "Printable Version". I used the very same later in the page, in the article on the beer festival, it reads "Read Full Story", and it is fine! ????

By the way, since this is my first public preview of any part of my site, I would like to preface by saying this is first and foremost a hobby, something to keep me out of the bars (notice irony in content of first page published!), so my unorthodox style is mostly on purpose. I am planning on doing some optimization (hints welcome), and adding some adds etc., but if someday I can manage to break even on the small investment I've made, I'll be happy.

Thanks for your time, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

                Mike

Also, I should have noted that it works normally in IE, not in FF. I noticed a very slow load in IE just lately, though I think it may be my machine??

                    Re: GreyBox and similiar...

Hi, just as a thought! Is the link “Printable version” in its own text box? It might ether want bring to the front Or just delete it & add it on farther down from the ***** juice text that is next to it at the moment. On the slow loading pages part. IE is slower than FF, but a few less images will certainly help.
LOL. on the bar part. I gave up smoking coming up a year ago, & one way to help was keep out the bars. So gave up drinking as well. I am now becoming a healthy miserable git. lol
Ironic thing is they have just banned smoking in pubs in the UK over the last few months.
                    Regards Chris.

                      Top of the morning Chris!

Something so simple! It is in a HTML box, and it was partially behind the text box with the recipe, DUH! Too many photos, huh? I did optimize most of them, can probably take a little more away. Any other impressions of the page as a whole? I know I probably should post in "View my site" or whatever it's called, but I'll wait till the whole shebang is done.

                      Much appreciated,

                      Mike

Chris can you or anyone please help?

I used Grey Box for my images....
Now viewed it on a different browser and it appears off to the left.

Is there a way to make the css and pop-up window "center in browser" ?

I'm lost on cascading style sheets

                        Help.....
                        Please

Hi, as with many scripts they will quite often only work in certain browsers. Its a bit like BV? There are many things & effects that don't work in Fire Fox, but are fine in IE.
I think, if you try to change the script for this grey box, you will not find it working in the browsers it is working with at the moment.
What's the other browser are you trying this in?
                          Regards Chris.

                            Chris,
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly
I'm sorry I didn't explain my self correctly.
It wasn't a problem with a different browser
The browser was still IE (which is the same as mine) the screen resolution was different
I was wondering if I could make it center in the browser so that the resolution wouldn't be an issue
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
