Which video file format should I use?

Happy new year to all. I have loads of videos to upload and am having trouble deciding which format to use so that visitors to the site can view them without having to wait too long! If someone could look at the following I'd be very grateful. The links on the right hand side (under Video Diary) should all work, but I have done item 1 and 5 using .mpeg4 files (quicktime) and the others using .wmv. I thought .wmv was the best one (recommended in another thread) but I am finding that the .mpg files download far quicker on my pc. I've now no idea which to use to get the best look for my website. Thanks in advance.
