    Hello!

Does anyone know if there's a way of changing the background colours on several columns/rows of a table at the same time?
I'm currently changing the colours cell by cell & it's very time-consuming.
Can't seem to see anything on the tutorials.
    Thanks!

    Re: table colours

Hi, click on a square in the row or column you want to change colour. Now move the curser to the out side edge of the row or column until the curser changes from a cross to an arrow. As soon as the arrow appears, hold the mouse in this position & left click once.
The row/column will now be highlighted. Wile the row is highlighted, right click on one of the highlighted squares & choose cell properties & adjust as needed.
If you want to highlight more than one row or column. After you highlighted the 1st one hold down the Ctrl & place the curser over the outside edge of more columns or rows & left click to to highlight more columns/rows.
QUICK WAY FOR JUST A FEW.
Hold down the Ctrl key & left click on the squares to highlight them. Then just right click on a highlighted square to change the properties of all that are highlighted.
    Regards Chris.

      Thanks Chris!

I've followed your instructions to the letter (and various other combinations!) but strangely nothing happens. It's just behaving as if I didn't have the control button pressed down.
Do you know what may be wrong?
      Thanks,

        Re: table colours

Ah'ha! The instructions in under red only work if you have already highlighted a single square with a single left click 1st. Then hold down the Ctrl & left click the other squares that you need to change. My fault.

        Good luck.
        Regards Chris.

          Re: table colours

Thanks for getting back to me Chris!
Sorry, but I've tried every combination and they're still reacting as individual cells.
I've tried different keys, locked ,unlocked, right clicks, left clicks, anything you can think of but no joy!
Really hoping there's a logical explanation!!
          Thanks again!

            Re: table colours

On seeing this thread I opened BV to see if I could help. No matter what I did I could not select more than 1 cell at a time. I went to "Cell Properties" and selected "Repeat in Both Directions." Nothing happened, still only one cell changed.
            Any ideas?

              Re: table colours

Hi, i just went back to try it again & all works fine at my end with just clicking on 1 cell to highlight it & then holding down the Ctrl key & left clicking on any others to highlight them. Then right clicking on 1 of the highlighted cells to change the colours via the cell property's.
The only other thing i can assume is your BV program is not the latest one & might need an update with a re-download.
The version BV says i am using is 9.1.0. Your version can be found by pressing Help>About BlueVoda.
              Regards Chris.

I was trying to highlight a complete row/column without having to click on each individual cell.

Hi, you can, but its very close where it changes.
When you have highlighted 1 square in the row or column, move the curser very slowly over to the edge of the table. When you get to just off the edge of the table the curser will change from a cross to an arrow. As soon as you see the arrow, left click, it will highlight the row/column.
                  Regards Chris.

Hi, the program may pick up on the boarder line itself as i noticed that if you increase the boarder (just to adjust) via boarder properties to (lets say 20 to 40) the curser finds the edge a lot easer.

                      Good luck.
                      Regards Chris.

                        Thanks Chris!
Have now installed the latest version.
I can't seem to be able to highlight the whole row even by adjusting the border as you suggested but I can highlight several cells at once which is time saving enough for me!
I'll keep trying but in the meantime thanks again!
