Can you help me to add a flash file to webpage

Can someone explain this to me please. I have downloaded a Flash file and have adobe to edit then I saved it in the BV file that is a far as I can get. When I click on the file in the flash dialogue box nothing seems to work. Is it possible to preview Flash or not?
