I am very new to this and I want to add a downloadable PDF to my site and assume I have to use FTP to do this. Can someone give me the steps to do this. All I have done so far is publish a site, so I am unfamiliar with FTP.
Thanks
Hi, you can log into your ftp manager from the blue voda website builder itself.
Go to tools, ftp manager, and at the top left you will notice connect.
Choose connect and you will be prompted for your ip, username and password.
You will notice your own computer files on the left. Once connected you will notice your files on the server.
Locate the pdf file by browsing through your computers files on the left, once found, slide the pdf file into the folder that contains your website. If it is your main domain of your voda hosting account, or your only domain, this websites files will be found in public_html directory (folder). If it is an add on domain, browse through public_html folder, and find the add on domains folder and open it.
Slide the pdf file into the correct folder. Take notice of the name. Your link needs to be exact.
The file extension .pdf is needed, as this is the type of document.
It's a good idea to name your pdf document with all small letters and no spaces between words, unless joined together by the use of the _underscore symbol.
For the pdf document, it's a good idea to set the target for this link as _blank, so that when they close the document your website will still be on their windows.
