UK pound sign

1) I've changed my $ symbol for the UK pound symbol. But it only works when I'm in Microsoft Words. :(
2) When I try to add the pound symbol when I'm in BlueVoda, I still get the $ symbol.
3) After publishing my work, I no longer get the prompt "Edit in microsoftword".

The 'easiest' way to insert special characters into BlueVoda is:
1. From the Windows Start menu select Run
2. Type: charmap
3. Select the character you wish to insert into BlueVoda.
4. Click Copy
5. Go back to BlueVoda and while you're in text edit mode, select Paste.
