Banner Adverts - Do you have them on your websites?

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone here sells banner adverts on their websites as a way to raise some income.... if so whats your average price? do people book once, or do you get repeat business?
In a nutshell, ANY info on banner ads would be appreciated

    Many thanks

Re: Banner Adverts - Do you have them on your websites?

Banner Advertising (Paid Positions) is tied directly to the desirability of the site itself, to represent the ROI and predictability of conversion, and is usually based on the Page Rank, Statistical Page Views, and placement on the page [top banner ad (premium); above-the-fold in body (preferred); gutter or 'in-column' (tiered); page footer (allowing larger size per dollar for less than premium placement), etc.], along with the size of banner you are allowing.

The whole idea behind the program is to offer advertisers fair value for traffic developed to their ste from yours in relation to the dollar being paid to generate it. If your site is only so-so with regard to a determined core traffic or is not PR1, then it is obvious you cannot charge a lot for advertising despite the solid "relevance" your site maintains, correct? And, conversely, if your site is very popular and has the provable ranking, then you need to still maintain the overall value to potential advertisers, and beginners usually initiate a "discounted" pricing scheme to flesh out the program until the metrics are established on a longer term statistical basis.

To effectively manage an advertising program, you may wish to explore PAP Post Affiliate Pro, the free utility available to all VodaHost clients (submit a request to Support) --- it has the banner advertising module included, meaning you can use just that single module and not enable the full Affiliate features. READ ABOUT PAP HERE

Just like any other aspect of a Business, having a real Plan will prove essential, especially in developing a viable program like you mentioned. The more you learn and are inspired by, the more important it becomes to detail your program to accommodate the many aspects so to be sure you cover the bases for yourself as well as those who pay for any service you offer.
