how do i insert affiliate banner adverts???

Hi,

I am setting up my website, which is a general information/strategy poker site. I am involved in a few affiliate programs, and I would like to insert a few affiliate banners on my site. However, the sites I am working with tell me to insert some html code to my site. For example:

Copy and paste all text to your website:

<center><a href="http://www.XXXXpoker.com/?key=MDAwME...DI0MDAwMDAwMDE-" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.XXXXpoker.com/images/com/...us/125x125.gif" alt="Play Online Poker" width="125" height="125" border="0" ></a><br><a href="http://www.XXXXpoker.com/?key=MDAwME...DI0MDAwMDAwMDE-" title="Play Online Poker" target="_blank"><b>Play Online Poker</b></a></center>

When I paste this to my site will it work? That is, will the image/link appear when the site is published? Can someone please help me out? I am not familiar AT ALL with html code, so this is rather confusing for me.

& the second link you gave does not exist......
