Is it possible to add a pdf document to a web page, and if so how??

yes:
1. upload the pdf file with no spaces, no caps and as short as possilbe to the server via ftp tool
fileone.pdf
2. create an image or text link on your page to the file on the server
www.yoursitename.com/fileone.pdf

thats it.
