Forcing browser to use a specific text encoding for viewing

Can someone tell me how to add codes in the page to force the browser to switch to a specific text encoding(language) for viewing? Thanks.

    No can do, bruddah!

That "solution" does not exist, and could never be universally supportable (would require every uinit on the web to have the 'specified' font loaded, which will never happen --- will always default to standard OS fonts). For instance, if you selected Arabic (Farsi), this would assume that everyone has that font (which they don't) so the OS will default to the nearest default font most similar, and in this case the simplest of which probably would be Arial or Symbols.

It's a common frustration for those designing in many of the Asiatic and similarly scriptive langauages (Hindi, Thai, Cambodian, etc.).

The instructions DO exist and are set for every single piece of text by BV automatically when you choose the font that you want to use.

However, if the browser sees that a specific font is not installed in the user's computer, it will turn to its default font (which, for US and Europe, is usually Times New Roman, or Arial (Helvetica).

This is the reason that most often is suggested that you use the so called web safe fonts, meaning those fonts that are installed in most computers in the world, curtesy of Microsoft and Windows.
