How to link from image into table cell

Hello everyone,

I made a table and i placed an image in one of the cells as a background. Now my problem is I can't find the link feature inside the properties box. I would like this bg-image in the cell to point to a file/page on my site.

P.S. I already know this is possible with the Insert-->Image feature where I can add a link to an image and drag that image on top of a cell, but I want the image to be a background of the cell and want this image to be linked to another file or page. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Use the shape icon to fit over the image, make it transparent, and link the shape.............
