    Colours of shapes UNstable

Recently the shapes I've used for background are appearing
washed out. I've gone in and reset the colours which temporarily
works only to later find new shapes with the same problem. It
looks as if the shape has been bleached with some colour remaining
but not that which I have chosen.

Midway down the page of www.redtractorfarm.com/hotel.html you
can see what is supposed to be a dark red background shape has gone
beige and resists correction. All the background shapes on this page
have been acting strangely. Our livlihood depends on this site and until
    now we've never had a problem...please help!

Well--interesting. Your boxes with the blue borders are wildly distorted versions of BV's rectangles from the Shapes tool. Did you create small boxes, export or save them to your drive, reimport them as images and then resize them? BV saves shapes as gif files, but properly modifies the gif when you resize with the handles. But if you somehow inserted them with the Image tool and then resized, that's why they look like mush. The blue "aura" is the 1-pixel blue border enlarged many times. It's impossible to do this with the Shape tool.

This can happen if you have copied the shape onto another page and then changed the color .. looks like this may have happened .. blue voda gives these shapes an image name when uploaded, and your beige shape has a different name than a red one i found identical on another page ..

when copying you need to keep things the same for the most part ..

remove the shape, reinsert with the color you want and republish ..
