Snap to Grid? What is it?

Sounds like a very useful maneuver, as I drag unruly elements around. How do I learn about it?

Play to learn..............
when you move an object it will automatically snap to the nearest grid line
when you release your mouse button or keyboard arrows etc.

Can be useful, but can also be annoying...............
