Video is very slow to start help

Hi. I have placed a video on the home page but when the site opens, it takes along time to open and play. I have tried Real Player and Media Player but both are the same.
Has anybody any ideas or can offer help?

Convert it to flash as one alternative.
Personally i wouldn't have it on my front page as it will just mean visitors leaving. Try having it as a link to a pop-up. At least the visitors can get on the site, then click on a link with the knoll that it might take a few extra seconds.

Hi. Have just converted file to FLV and used Flash player, then published. Video dit not show at all. So have put back media player for now.

Should file be FLV or something else?
