Okay so.. for the moment I have installed the windows media player on my page - and inserted a .wmv file - The problem I'm having is on my computer it is working, on my husbands it was working, but now isn't -- the error says "no Plugin" however I did have it working prior today. So?? I don't know what happened. I do know it won't play on my friends tablet either with the same error "needs plugin". Yes we tried to install plugins, but you'd think windows media would come standard - this would seen problematic for potential site visitors, yes? Also I can not get any type of video to work /play from my web page on to my android phone. I would be fine with using any other player if it would work. What do I need to do? Oh and I had tried previously to get you tube videos to play, but I can't seem to do that either - I gave up on trying to get the you tube videos to work, and just went to embedding video directly onto the page via windows media player -- here is the page in question : http://www.dianneoldsrossi.net/show-video.html thanks Rebecca
Video on page, seems I can't get video working properly, no matter which player I use

Re: Video on page, seems I can't get video working properly, no matter which player I
Update Note: On my husband's computer inside where the video should play it says "there is no plug in available to display this content" However he pulled up the source code on his computer - clicked on the embedded link to the wmv file and it loaded and played file. - Highly doubt my visitors to the web page will know to do that (lol) Please help me figure out how to fix the problem thanks again.

Re: Video on page, seems I can't get video working properly, no matter which player I
The precise method outlined in the Tutorial sounds much simpler than the method you are trying to use. The only focus point should be selecting the proper file type ....
IF you are using Chrome, WMV files will always be something particularly challenging. Just something Google has against Microsoft, I guess. Think about upgrading Chrome, or specifically adding the updated WMV Player Plugin.
And thirdly, there are alternatives, such as converting to AVI, QuickTime, or MP4 and using RealPlayer instead.

Re: Video on page, seems I can't get video working properly, no matter which player I
That is what I've done ... I took the windows media player from the tool bar opened it up the properties and inserted the .wmv file (the video is in a .wmv file format, that is why I used the windows media player) I will see if it pulls up in other browsers besides chrome, but really that doesn't matter - If it doesn't work in Chrome I have to change it - as half the world will use chrome to open the page (but I understand what your saying about Google -lol) - Although that would be nice if that is the real issue.... I suppose I will need to try a different fie type, but I've been have issues with that too... I had originally just tried to grab the video from you tube and insert it on the page (again using the you tube tool on the tool bar in BV) ... but that never worked. And so far I've had no luck getting any other file to work with quick time or real player (All using the toolbar in BV) I will try again and let you know. In the meantime if there are nay issues with BV or another options please update me thanks for being there (you always answer my posts!) Maybe my BV version is out of date? I don't think so though.

Re: Video on page, seems I can't get video working properly, no matter which player I
I am having the same issue with videos not working properly. I have tried all of the players as well. Have loaded them according to the tutorial. With Windows Media Player, RealPlayer and Quicktime the video shows up, but no controls, play buttons, volume control. etc. Just a black box that shows up. If you click on the black box, the video start playing and will stop playing if you click on the video. I can't even get YouTube to show up at all, not even a black box. I have created test pages for each of the players:
Windows Media Player: http://www.elizabethsummers.com/index-1-wmp.html
Real Player: http://www.elizabethsummers.com/index-1_realplayer.html
Quicktime: http://www.elizabethsummers.com/index-1_quicktime.html
YouTube: http://www.elizabethsummers.com/index-1_youtube.html
Please let me know if there is anything else I can try.
Thanks
