    html h1 help please

After reading a the thread on Keywords and the comments by Bethers I am trying to add this html to my web pages, for my page header.
I can not seem to change the font to curlz mt and need to change the colour to what I already have on my page.
Have I put the information into the html in the correct way?
Do I need to add something to this html to change the font type and colour?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

    Ali

    Re: html h1 help please

First, size 18 is going to be gigantic - I suggest you try 5. The numbers don't equal the size you're used to!!! But I just looked where you're using it - maybe you will want 18 - but test it and see.

    Try this:
    <center><h1><font face="curlz mt" size="5">Cakes With a Difference</font></h1></center>

Now, I didn't put in the color - but I don't know what color you're using. If you have the page set up with a default color, this should default to it. If not, let me know and let me know what color you want - you'd simply add it in like this:

    <center><h1><font face="curlz mt" size="4" color="ffffff">Cakes With a Difference</font></h1></center>
with the ffffff the code for the color you are using.

      Your a Star Bethers!!
Thank you so much, could you tell me please where I find the codes for the colours? In the colour box the only choice I have is :
      hue
      sat
lum, etc, and like you said I need a code like ffffff but for the colour I choose.
      Thank you again

        Alison,
Go here - put in the values you have and it will give you what you need:

Most of the color charts work from color name and code - but this one will give you the code from the values.

One other thing to realize, when possible, there are only 216 colors that are supposed to be seen properly on all computers - and you can see those here:

If you switch this screen back and forth between decimal rgb and color codes, you'll see the same color listed both ways. Kind of neat.

I don't worry too much about using colors not on there - although lately, I've gone with picking ones on the chart.

Hi Bethers, The h1 is done. Thank you very much for your help with that.
Could you tell me where h2 is used? I also saw you mention that.
I really appreciate your help with this.
          Thank you again

Alison - on your home page, you could use an h2 for your headline: Personalised Cake Toppers and another one for Personalised 3D Novelty Cakes. These are other headlines on the page, probably of equal importance, therefore both could get h2's (I don't suggest doing multiple h1's on a page). If one of these is more imporant than the other, do one as h2, the next as h3. You can use all the way down to h6.

And, I'm really proud of myself - it was really hard to use that English s in personalised - and now I did it 3 times LOL

              Thank you so very much!
Well done, you should be very proud of your self our language is rather complicated even for me.lol
When you say about the h2, do I put the same code as before but replace the h1 with h2 ect...
So could I put all the text that's on my pages into these like you said h1 to h6?
Thanks Bethers for your time again

                Re: html h1 help please

Yes, replace h1 with h2 or h3, etc. Replace the title info with what you want for that one - and put in whatever size you want. I suggest the size should never be larger for an h2 than an h1, but if you want them all the same, that shouldn't be a problem.

NO as to ALL the text. These should ONLY be used for headlines - not for the "article" or "informational" text. Yes, you should still use keywords in the rest, but h1, h2, etc are specifically to designate a headline.
