Can anyone advise me: I want to have a movie (wmv) start only when a related picture is clicked, is this possible within one page or must I create an additional page that will open when the picture is clicked on, if so how will I be able to control that it opens in the correct place?

You can do it in the same or a new page. Have a look at: http://www.navaldesign.info/video.html

I have used an I frame, to show the initial content, then the video opens in the same frame.

Just place a button in your page, linked to your wmv file, and set the target to open in the iframe.

Hi, I think this is somewhat related to what I posted in the forum, Navaldesign, saw your website and its really cool, ok so you used I frame to open the wmv file, I just wanted to ask how did you do the other button that would just simply allow people to just download the movie file?

I'm a total newbie at this. tried a couple of things and still doesn't work, I understand the logic behind the linking but must i upload the wmv file first or do i link from a local file and what is the correct target to open in the i-frame, mine opens up a new page each time!

There are two different issues here:
1. To have the movie play in your page, create a page with only the media player(directly from BV). Publish it. It will automatically upload your file to your site. This page is the one that will be displayed in your I frame. Make sure that the size of the media player that you put in this page, is the same size as the I frame that you will put in your display page. Then, in the display page, add a button (as i did) that is linked to the Page (not the file) with the media player.
2. To allow them to download the file and simply save the file in their computer, you must add another button, linked directly to the file.

Thanks naval, I went wrong at design time by trying to load the file locally and publish without using the individual pages and linking them.

tried it the new way and works like a dream, I connected download button to ftp and not url amd page will not display, must i load a seperate file to ftp?

My dowload button connects to the file in ftp, but when I try download the page cannot be displayed, the file type is url, should it be ftp

The movie I have used takes a dig at George Bush and Tony Blair, don't think it's cosher being hosted by an American company, as soon as I republish I will let you know.

Tell me, what program do you use to zip the file, I used the freebie winzip but it doesnt crunch it all too much?
