HELP me upload a word doc

Hello all.
This is the first time i have ever tried anything like this, i am without a doubt a novice.

What i need to to is allow visitors to my site to click on "download application form" and they can download one.
I have the form ready in a word doc but have no idea what to do next.
If you can help, please make your info as simple as you can.

Upload the Word file on your site, using BlueFTP. Then create a link form your page to the file. The link should be : http://www.yoursite.com/filename.doc
