Changing forms because of Outlook warning

    Hello all

I'm thinking of changing my Newsletter Subscription form because when I submit my name and e-mail I get a warning message from outlook saying the following, "Your e-mail address will be e-mailed to the recipient and will send the form data without encrypting it for privacy."

I think if people sign up to my Newsletter this warning would scare them off.

I'm thinking of simply removing the form and changing it to Text stating "Subscribe Here" and just Hyperlink it to my subscribe e-mail address. I've had discussions on the php forms but I simply don't have the intelligence to get my head around the tutorials. I think it would be easier to change to the "Subscribe here" version when updating the pages as well.

Is this a good idea?, Can anyone test my form to see if they get the warning message. You can simply put,"test only" in the name and I will not add your e-mail address to the subscription. I will delete your address immediately.

    Any advice would be appreciated

Re: Changing forms because of Outlook warning

The warning message is a standard browser warning procedure. It is due to the way your form info is being processed. You have set the action to "mailto". And it doesn't depend on you, but on the Outlook Express settings of every single visitor.
On the other hand, simply asking them to email you in order to subscribe, is highly unprofessional.
What you need to do is to have a php script to process your form, and there will be no more warning messages.

Have a look at Advanced BlueVoda Form Processor . Easy to use, step by step installation and use instructions, no hand coding required.

      Hello Naval Design

I agree with your comments that it is unprofessional. I've been working hard into the night trying to upload the php form Zip File from Davidundalicia.

But I think I've got it now. Its loaded and I subscribed from my Home page successfully. Now I've got to change all the other pages but thats life.

      Thanks for your reply
