Error 404 and favicon

I noticed in my error log that I have had 4 different servers that have each had the same 2 errors. 404.shtml file does not exist and favicon.ico file does not exist. Can you tell me what that means and if I need to fix something? Thank you,

Favicon is short for favorite icons and is a little logo that appears in front of some websites in the address bar.

What error log are you looking at?
error 404: are you trying to view a page that has not been published yet?

Thank you Bill. When I go into my control panel and look at the stats for my site there is an error log that shows errors that (I think) users get on my site. I have gone through it many times and have never received an error so it is puzzling. Yesterday there were probably 50 in the log and they were each the same two errors.

The reason you are showing a missing 404 page is because you have not set one yet. Do not worry about your error log, this is not important at this stage in the game.

Thank you. I looked at the tutorial and decided to take your other advice and not worry about it at this stage of the game. Thanks again.
