Settings for the very first page

    Hello,

Yesterday I noticed this post about the settings for 1st page, when you start working with BV.
It was about the basic settings when you start working on your very first page. I think the original poster was a female....She did provide some very usefull tips about centering your page and few more options.

I hope someone can point me in the good direction.

    THX!

    Hi action
I think it could've been lincslady
When you do the page make sure it is 800 X 600
Go to view and click on page properties
if it's a home page name it index and make sure the centre in browser is clicked, you also set the page size there
You can use the layout/guide settings to make sure all is in line
    Hope this helps
You can try searching on the top of the forum to try and get something on the original post.
What I do if I get a posting I want to keep I save it either by copy/paste or saving the page

There are a few tricks and tips to help you create your first page.
-A right click on the page will get you to Page Properties. Ideally you would select a page width of 800 or 1024, but not wider as users dislike horiziontal scrolling.
-Page Properties will also let you select the default font, background and of course 'centering' your pages in a browser. This is a neat feature and gives your site a very professional look.
-You can also type in a page title and metatags, both a must for search engines to find your site.
-From the menu in BV, you might want to click Layout> Guide Settings > and check Guide Settings (choose width 800 and height 600) the dotted lines will help you set up your page. Don't worry too much about the height. The dotted lines will not appear when you publish.
If you add a template, remember to save it with any changes you make.
You can now start to work on your pages and save following Bruce's post above.

      Good luck
