    Linking to Affiliates

I have read through the posted threads, but still can't find an answer to my problem. I am an affiliate of Amazon and am trying to put a text link in my content. Creating banners, etc. is pretty clear on the amazon associate site, but since I want a "text" link, I go to the "build link" section, then select "text link" and at the bottom you have the ability to find the exact page that you want to link to, copy and paste the url, select a name for the link, then click "get HTML" which I did. The problem is that in BlueVoda, I have to open an HTML box, paste the code, then in the preview mode, the "name" of the link appears. But now I have the HTML box that I'm trying to make very small in order to have the text (when the site is previewed) appear in the exact spot that I need. I'm sure there's an easier way. How do I get just the url (with product and associate code) only without having to use the html box in BlueVoda? I tried using the "link" button, but obviously html code does not work with this (only url). I know how to link text to a url outside of my website but how do I get my affiliate info (which is always html code) into my link? I know this sounds very confusing now that I'm reading it back... it's hard to explain, but I know someone out there knows exactly what I'm trying to accomplish! Your help is always appreciated. Thank you.

          Text Links

Thanks. When you say the link, you mean the url from the page that i'm on when obtaining the html? I don't think I can because you'd need to be logged in as an affiliate. Bottom line, I guess there's no way to create a text link to a url outside of my site? Only from page to page? I can always put the amazon link on the side, but I really wanted it from within the content, you know?

            Text Links

Ok, ok, after a little more research... learning more every day. I understand how to create a text link in BlueVoda to link to any page within or outside my site. The situation I have now is that once you become an affiliate (in my case, Amazon, but I assume it would be the same for most other affiliate programs) you have an ID for reporting purposes. In the process of creating a link to the url that you want to direct someone to, because it must contain this ID information and not just the url, it is necessary to create html. Once it's html, you have no option when using BlueVoda to create this text link, but instead you need to open an html box and paste the code. Therein lies the problem... trying to place this html box into the content. Am I correct?

The company you have affilate program with normally give you the html to place on your web site, this code have your id etc so they know who you sent and when etc.

This code they give you must be copied in full and its easier to placed inside a html box to then put where you want it displayed within your site

some of the ID code give include a image some include a text link.

              give you an idea

                Affiliate Links

Thanks Maddog. I did manage to manipulate the content and squeeze in an html box on my site. I guess that's what needs to be done when trying to incorporate a text link within the content. BTW, how did you do the scrolling text on the fenlands site? That's neat!

                    Scroller

Not sure what the difference is... the text that scrolls on the index page. I guess that would be the auto scroller?
