How to create my own Banner

I would lke to create my own Banner and have a line of code pointing to my site with the banner. I would like to use it for advertising. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can do that. I dont know how to create the code myself.

The code is simple html - for example if you had a banner now and wanted it pointed to your website - the html is:
<quote><a href=http://www.owndefense.com/ target="_blank><img src="whatevertheimagesourceis.jpg alt="Self Defense Products"></a></quote>

Obviously there are changes to make - the actual name of the image - whether you host it or they have to upload and host it would depend on the image sournce - .jpg could be .gif, etc. and the alt tag is what you want to call your image.
