Testing With Hyperlinks

I'm new at this, both web sites and BlueVoda. I seem to be getting it, at the moment except for one area. Maybe it's been answered, but I can't seem to find it.
When testing your web page, how do you test out your hyperlinks? What do you put in as a http address??

You can't fully test your website without publishing. You can preview your website by pushing the preview button within BlueVoda.
