A page behind a page

Friends:

I have published my home page only but a second page appears behind the first. I have not been able to diagnose the problem. Can anyone explain?

My first question is kind of obvious, but can you select the template behind and just delete and republish? Sometimes if I find something hidden underneath, if I select the entire page and can delete those duplicating elements pretty easily. If you don't have the duplication occuring in your building phase, and it only occurs after publishing, then I don't know what to tell you, other than delete that page from your ftp and try republishing again. Someone else with more experience may be along to offer some other advice as to why this is happening, but from a novice like me, these are the things I would try first. Hope this helps.

Ken, publish your index page, so that we can have lok at it, this will also close up your site, as at the moment all your files are showing............

I don't see another image behind your template you have chosen. But what I do see is a grey background. The background is selected by choosing page properties, (right clicking on your page).

It appears you have named, saved and published your home page incorrectly.

Your home page needs naming index saving as index and publishing as index

Only the word index

This will then be the page that is found when you type in your domain name (it's url, which is the address of your site)

You are just joking right David??

This would be the url when they republish their index page, as it is now it is published, but incorrectly ....

If you read my post I was explaining the proper way to save, name and publish their main page of their website ...

Not sure why you posted this, if only to add confusion??? You need a cookie David ....

I just looked at his index page and the duplicating image that WAS there is not there anymore, so Ken must have figured out how to get rid of it. Hey KEN!!! did you figure it out?

Thanks for you response. In my effort to correct my problem I was a little to vigorous—I wiped the entire site out. But it is not a total loss in that I’ve learned a number of valuable keys by which I’m rebuilding a better site.
