create exchange banner

Hi all I havn't been around for a while but just getting back intl it.
can anyone tell me how to create an exchange banner to place on other peoples sites i have looked for banners on the net but all seem to require knowledge of html which I have know idea of .can you help

Banners are fairly easy to create and not much html, in fact no HTML knowledge is required. Follow the instructions below and you'll be well on your way.

Create the image

First you need to create the image. You could use firefox, photoshop, flash or any other image. Once the image is complete and you are happy with your masterpeice, upload it to the server and note the web address of it for later use.

Create the code

Basically all you need now is the code to pull the image from the server and then make that image a link that when clicked will take you to your site. The code you will need is as follows.

Edit the code To suit your needs

Now you can edit the above code to suit you.

The first obvious one is the part in blue which is basically the website you want the link to point to.

The red part is the web address of the image you want the banner to show so im my case the title image of my site.

The Green part is for alternative text in case the users browser cannot load the image for some reason. That way they still know what the banner is for.

Offer the code

All you need to do is put the image on your page and show the code they need to add to their page to show your banner.

You could also use pre-automated software which is readily available on the net like this one, to easily create your banner fast.
