Upload filesize limit?

I have tried numerous times and ways to upload a 35MB .zip file to my Public html folder, to no avail. Error messages don't tell me why, but I suspect there is a file size limit to uploads. Smaller files and graphic images upload OK.

Is there any way to circumvent the size limit?
