Hello all, I'm just beginning and I'm already stuck . . . I'm trying to make a drop down vertical menu, and when it asks for my URL, I don't know what that is! Sorry to be so clueless.
url is the exact page you want to link to (don't ask me about the technical def. because I don't retain those ha ha), like say I was linking to this thread, the url would be http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/blu...-kie-here.html ... look up in the address bar.
It's great to hear that you are getting on with building your site and it's understandable that some of it will make you scratch your head. I was exactly the same when I started. Lol Don't forget the search feature at the top of the page, I found it very useful when I started.
Your URL is the 'address', of your page, on the web. Now, in order to know what your address is, you will need a domain name. Do you have one yet? You get a free domain name when you sign up for a VodaHost hosting package but you can also buy them individually, either from VH or elsewhere.
When you do know your domain name, your URL (say for your index page, for example) will look like this: http://www.mydomainname.com/index.html and if you had a Contact Us page that might look like http://www.mydomainname.com/contactus.html where 'mydomainname.com' is replaced by your actual domain name. Each page of your website will have its own individual URL.
I hope that helps and remember to name your home page index - no uppercase letters.
