    Blue Voda Graphics Question!

Hello my Website is www.vullcanairbrush.com ,
My problem is related to the b.voda graphics.

In my pages are frames made out of from the object tools for example...
    I click on objects...I choose rectangle...then I choose transparent and then I use frame No.1 ( thickness ) ...OK.

If you look at my pages you will see that bottom frames in some of them are regular thickness No.1 as they should be and some of the frames bottoms are made of thicker lines ( not as it should be as the thickness is set at size No 1. )
I try to reload and then the next page displays frame without a bottom at all...I reload the page that has a damaged bottomless frame and then go back to the old page and there a thick line on the bottom appears again.

This looks tacky to me and unstable , please help.

Re: Problematic Unstable Blue Voda Graphics!

Hi, I assume you mean shapes & not objects? Had a look in IE & FF, & all looks fine on my machine. I am assuming you are talking about the grey boxes out lines around your menu areas?
    Regards Chris.

That is right Chris I mean shapes but not outlines around menu bars but outlines around the text body...If you go to http://www.vullcanairbrush.com/mc-1a.html ...scroll all the way at the bottom of the page just above the menu bar the frames bottom outline is thicker than lines on left and right hand, now if you got to
http://www.vullcanairbrush.com/mc-1a_specs.html you will notice that the bottom of the frame looks the same all the way around...This repeats many times of course there are 120+ pages I cannot expect you to look all of them
Can you help make frames look the same on all the pages?
      regards
      Sinisa

Re: Problematic Unstable Blue Voda Graphics!

Hi, strange one. Not sure what is making this happen. Must be something to do with the pages as when you view the image http://www.vullcanairbrush.com/bv03412.gif on its own, it is fine. Would actually be a nice effect if you could duplicate it. Its like its making this bottom edge 2px in size & the rest 1px.

The only area I can say to have a look at. Is when you look at http://www.vullcanairbrush.com/mc-1a.html the image is long & about twice the size of the one on this page http://www.vullcanairbrush.com/mc-1a_specs.html Yet the images share the same URL http://www.vullcanairbrush.com/bv03412.gif
With this in mind, I believe there has been some posts on this. What you may of done is either cloned or copied a page & adjusted the image/shape after copying. Doing this may affect the image looks. I believe if you want to clone or copy a page, you aren’t meant to change the elements size (IE: this image/shape) what I get the impression you should do is make 3/4/5 pages up at different sizes as the basic templates that you could use for all of your sites pages. These may all be the same width, but have different lengths. Then when you make up a new page, you copy or clone one of these that you have made up, & add items but not change them. If you do! i believe you should delete the item & replace with a new one.
Personally! If you are thinking of a site with many pages? I would seriously look at using Navaldesigns of style to putting your site together. It will be a lot quicker in the long run.
If you need help? Just pop a post back here. Link to PHP style of pages.
Your sites style of lay out would make this quite easy to do.
        Regards Chris.

          Thank you Chris,
You are right I cloned many pages...I simply erased the old images and made new ones and it worked perfectly.
Thank you for saving the day , I will look into the PHP style of pages as that would be allot easier then going trough each page every time I make an update,
Best regards and thank you again

Hey Chris it's Sinisa again ,
wanted to ask you if you know a good script ( with instructions for installation ) for site search box..and that I mean search related topics in my own web pages not one of those Google site search boxes...
Last time I was directed to some link for me to find the script...Needles to say I have no clue what is good or what exactly am I looking for...any thoughts
            Sinisa
P.S Am I allowed to ask questions not related to the subject or Am I breaking some rules?

              Re: Blue Voda Graphics Question!

Hi Sinisa, glad it solved the problem. Beth! One of the forums admin use’s http://www.freefind.com/ as a site search. It seems to be fine with the least amount of adds showing that I have seen. You will see what I mean if you have a quick look at her site. http://www.achildspalace.com/ & try the find/search facility. But there won’t be many (if any) free ones out there without some ads on them.

Good luck with the site, its looking very neat and tidy. Oh! One small thing, it looks like your pages need centering & I think this is creating the problem http://www.vullcanairbrush.com/1119a_02.gif I assume you have it in a table & it might be this that is making/pushing the page a bit wide. Cheers.
              Regards Chris.

                Re: Blue Voda Graphics Question!

Thanks for the reply I will then just purchase the search box I do not want anybodies junk...I do think this is something blue voda should have as a must ...Yahoo web builder has it with in the web builder no script neccessery... I do not understand why blue voda does not have one...you would have less work for everyone...besides we paid for the service...

Thanks for the compliment...wanted to ask if I centered the site wont that make my body text and the menu bars that are on the left be placed in the center of the page?
I do not want that I want it to look the way it is ..but what exactly is the problem with http://www.vullcanairbrush.com/1119a_02.gif ? pushing how...?
I do not understand? I made all the pages that do not have a scroll be the same display size ...same with the pages that have a scroll bar...

                  Re: Blue Voda Graphics Question!

Hi, just another tip regarding those cloned pages. Even if you use Naval's php method, there might be instances where you want to clone a specific page or even copy items from one page to another. It's OK to do that, but as Chris has explained, it can cause some problems. Instead of deleting these items and recreating them over, just do this:
                  1. Select all the items that were copied from another page (click one, then while holding the Shift key, click the other items as well).
                  2. Now press Ctrl+X to cut all selected items (or use Edit >> Cut).
                  3. Now open the Edit menu and select the Paste command (do not use any other paste options). This will paste your items in the exact spot where it were on the other page where they were copied from and you will not have any format problems with them or the original items).
                  Bless you
                  Tom

Hi, I have copied you page in a screen shot to show you what I mean. Its at the bottom of this page. http://www.collectors-info.com/testing/spage.html
I can see you might want to use the full page width & not like my top of the page sample. But the lower image show what I see with a lot of side scroll.
But let others confer this 1st just in case it my browser playing up.
                    Regards Chris.

Thank you both actually as far as I know and I am pretty sure there is no pages with side scroll...( unless you have seen one ) Thank you for the suggestion but I have worked on all possible angles and it took me a while to decide to have this layout ...I did it because it seems fuller in the other instance it looks a bit chopped away... thank you for the suggestion I really appreciate it...

Sorry ... it seems I misunderstood your point ...I do not want users to have a side scroll at all and I thought I avoided that ..obviously I was wrong is there a way to correct this and display the whole page width without side scroll..that was my only concern earlier
                          thanks again

Hi Sinisa, might be worth letting someone else confer that they are getting the same side scroll as well & its not my machine, as its strange you are not getting any. I even get it on your entry/home page. But on this page everything is to the right of the page, with a white gap to the left.
Just on another note, I was looking at the s/code on your entry page & there are far to many keywords. 20 max is about the norm or even less. All these key words must be also on your page. Otherwise you may find the SE’s just ignoring you.

Will see if others can confer the sideways scroll.

Not shouting or being rude! Just trying to get this noticed for a test. lol

                            .
                            Regards Chris.

Chris, I have a 1280 x 800 screen and find no sideway scrolling, but anything less than this I'm sure will have sideways scrollong.

Sinisa, without messing up your layout of the pages, I think you must move your copyright text in the header area to within the 1000 limit as this is causing the sideways scrolling (I think...). Do not let any text or items go outside this area of 1000 wide. Will be good idea to set the page margins at 1000.
