Some computer people have different settings, was wondering how I could have one size that would fit anyones? So whatever size they have would fit any screen, the full width, so they wouldn't have to use the scroll bar on bottom to read the page. What can I do?
Yes, I have this problem too
I set my page properties at 600x800
and when my husband looked at my website on his computer (bigger screen) it was all scrunched up...but it was fine on my computer.
So, I changed the page properties to 800x1000 and he still had the same problem viewing my page all scrunched up.
How do you fix that?
Christie
You can't just set the page properties, you have to build within that size range. Turn on the rulers and the grid (using View on the toolbar) and that will be easier to accomplish.
So does that mean that if you set the page size in the properties section to 600 x 800, that you should not use the whole white space you see on the screen for the web page design?
I set my page dimensions, but I also noticed that you have to set dimensions in another place (Layout - Guide Settings). When I check the box marked "Show Guide Borders", it changes the space I can work with on my page.
You need to stay inside the vertical dashed line on the right of your screen. Page depth, however, isn't as important as width, so it is not absolutely necessary to follow the horizontal guide.
The best is not so much the length but width. The best demensions would be 750x800 centered in browser. Set you guide setting and bulid your site within it. Aften with the page properties check the box center in browser and preview. There should be equal margins on both sides. Keep the margins free and clear. pet121
600x800 will work fine as well but you can push the width from 600-800. Just to add there is a way of making a 600x800 page fill the whole screen on any computer. I forget how to do this.
