Site driving me mad very slow to load!!

    Hi

Im trying to just get my homepage up and running to start with, but it is loading ridiculously slow! (www.webuynationwide.co.uk)

I just used pix resizer to reduce the images at the top to 50% (is this even the right way to do it?!) as was advised by support that images were quite large. However, the images now take even longer to load!! The whole template shows up when you first load the page, which looks very unprofessional and i just dont know how to fix it!

    Please help!

    Thanks

    Sally

It doesn't help that you have images (shapes) underneath other shapes. It's as if you started with a shape, didn't like it and replaced it by laying one on top of another rather than removing the old ones first. I see all kinds of images before your page loads properly.

Hi, you need to make you images smaller in physical size & KB size. On this page http://www.webuynationwide.co.uk/debtconsolidation.html the header images are at about 800kb & should be nearer 40kb
Try copying these 2. Should speed things up a bit @ 32 kb

          Regards Chris.

Thank you so much for your help everyone, and thanks for the amended images, Collectors!

I will change this now and see if it helps.

With regards to the shapes upon shapes, i did that because the template i used had pre-made text box areas and i couldnt make the text i wanted to add fit in these and didnt particularly like the way they were set out, so i made a giant square to cover this up, and made my own text boxes. Would putting the template into paint, cutting the top off which i do want and adding a bottom to it there help?

            Thanks
