    addon domain takes over!

I'm having trouble - I read the tutorials and managed an addon domain - http://www.learn2learn.co.nz I used BV with this one and it doesn't need a shopping cart. But now my domain on my main account http://www.celticjewellery.co.nz is not working - It seems to have been taken over by my new addon domain. I used soholaunch for this one.

I know you can't use another shopping cart with soholaunch as your main account, but I thought it would be OK to publish a 2nd site with BV because I wasn't using another shopping cart. I seem to have totally stuffed up. Please can tell me what to do. Thanks

    Re: addon domain takes over!

Sorry, it is all the other way round.

If the original site was built in Soho and now it doesn't appear any more, it is because you have published the new domain (built in BV) in the public:html folder. You need to delete the addon pages from there, and publish them again in public_html/addonfolder where addonfolder is the actuall name of the folder related to your addon domain.

Thanks for the advice. What an awful lot of work! That first site took me months. How stupid of me.

Hi. Please, do NOT delete the first site. It is only your index page that has been overwrriten!

Delete the BV pages of the second site and your first one (built with Soho) will be ok !!

Then publish the BV pages in the Addon domain folder!. You have lost nothing !!

Thanks again - trouble is I published my BV site to public_html/learn2learn as the tutorial said. I can't see where I went wrong.

It seems that you have accidentally published your new site pages, or at least some of them, in your public_html

If you click on http://www.celticjewellery.co.nz/index.php you will see that your Soho page is still there so you have not lost anything. But, if you click on http://www.celticjewellery.co.nz/index.html you will see that you have also published the index page of the BV site (the new one) in the same folder.

Now, since the browser looks first for the html page (and it finds one) your Soho index will not show up. Just delete the index.html from your public_html and your soho site will show up again.
