hi ,almost done with my website but..I would like for the email links in website to go to an email page or a contact me type situation.www.newenglandgrindingandmachining.com. how can i do this? thanks.

I was having the same problem--this may not be the easiest answer, but it worked for me. After searching all over blue voda and not finding any answer, I went to Google. I found an html email hyperlink generator. This thing not only writes html code so you can get it to do what you are trying to do, but it also makes the code unreadable to spam harvesters so you don't get spammed just from having your email address on your site.

What you do is----

1. go to http://www.lancs.ac.uk/~hobsonb/nospam.php

2. type in your address---get the code------copy the code.

3. go back to blue voda, and use the insert hyperlink thing on the top left hand side.
4. paste the code in the box, and then you will have to use the Preview to get it positioned where you want it.

Like I said this may not be the correct way, but it works. You can look at mine at www.sassydoxies.com it's on the contact us page.

have you tried highlighting the text you would like as the link, and then click on the icon at the top of BV (Chain and world logo). then click the drop down menu and then Mailto, and then the email address.

stocktoad is correct in suggesting that you do encrypt your email address.

Another we more commonly use can be found at www.dynamicdrive.com

It is called the Email Riddler .. fairly easy to use ...

You might also consider using a contact form.

Scipt that generated by dynamicdrive, can only see like "Contact Us" at FireFox But not at IE.
What happen if people read our site using IE?

The encryption has always worked with internet explorer, at least for me ...

One thing you should consider, if you are not going to use a contact form and opt to use this method instead, is the fact that you should also just have your email address typed without linking on the page. The one problem with linking of the email address, encrypted or otherwise, is that some people do not have a desktop based email program, e.g., outlook, etc., some people only have msn or hotmail addresses and therefore there is no email program on their computer to open this clickable email. Therefore they would not be able to email you unless your email address was also visible .. best not to link a visible email address.

I would suggest you start your own thread in the email section of this forum where you will find further help ..

In the meantime, until you have your issues worked out and resolved with outlook, you could check your mail in webmail and forward to your main outlook express account. To reply though, you would need to log into webmail and send from here, otherwise your mail would come from your main outlook email address.

Did you create the email addresses in your webmail? or simply outlook? You need to create these email addresses in your control panel under your mail icon ..
