Adding banners to bluevoda

Hi, i just add a banner to my first page i did on my own, i saved like an image and i add it like an image too, everything seems to be ok, but is this the right way of adding banners?, i was looking at the tutorials and it seems i can to use the html tool to add banners, but in this case is for sure with a code, my question is in which cases do i have to use this tool to add banners, some free banners on internet have a code to copy and paste, is it just in this cases or can you also save this banners and add it like images the way i did.....

If the banner is an image use the image tool, If the the banner is a HTML code, insert
it as HTML.
