How to prevent a pdf from being indexed.

Hi all. I have a link to a pdf brochure on all my pages that I don't want indexed since it contains mirror copy of my website. How do I prevent the spiders from indexing this page. I have heard the robots.txt might work, or a noindex meta tag command. Any thoughts? Thanks

Here is some info on robot.txt
I am not sure if you can hide a link within a page ans still keep it live.
Robots.txt is used to manage crawler traffic. Explore this robots.txt introduction guide to learn what robot.txt files are and how to use them.
