When I publish my page and I try to view it how come I get a few options such as the page itself, the image, the music file and cgi bin??? I would like it to go to the main page itself.

Give us a link to verify, but I think you did not save your page properly. You should have saved your first page as index nothing more, no caps, no spaces, no extentions -

Yes as ad Ed said. Save your first page as index all lower case and republish.
