Text, text boxes, and others move

Well, this just started lately. I use bluevoda and it was great at first everything I built in bluevoda looked exactly the same when I previewed it or published it. But now if I try to add anything to it, it is never in the same spot as it is while I am building it. Can someone please tell me why it is doing this and help me fix it. Heres my website if anyone needs to look at that.

First, open you home page in BV and resave and republish as "index"--no caps and for sure no spaces. Also, your current home page comes in both html and php versions which will cause troubles.

The name of the page had nothing to do with it. I started with html, but the php is for the login. But I never had trouble with it till now. That didn't work thanks for helping, hope someone else can try and help also.

The name of the PAGE DOES have to do with it. YOu cannot have two pages with the same name. Also you must save with the default bvp extension and not change it to hmtl. You need to login to your file manager and delete all instances of the index page.. and republish ONLY ONE. Your login page needs to be named something else.. unless you want that one to appear as default. Otherwise the first one published takes precedence. Also the SE will hit it for duplicate content.

I'm sorry you misread what I meant. Like changing the name isn't the problem. I don't use both of the ones with the same name the html was before and now the whole site is php no .html, plus I was saying neither thing he said was the fix.

I will try to make it clearer.

While using bluevoda to build my site at first everything worked great and is published but now when I try to add something new to the site I put it where I want it on the page. But when I go to preview or publish it isn't at the same place on the page as it is on bluevoda.

Someone help because sites need additions and that can't happen if it doesn't work!

because that needs to be named 'index'

no home page with spaces.

Most lkely it sounds like you have elements HIDDEN on your page.. Hit cntrl a to hilight them all and delete the empty ones. This also happens when you do CUT AND PASTE instead of cloning the pages with the menu in tact.

I put some sample stuff at the top to show what is happening.
Here at the header part of the page the box that says example and the line that has Recent Articles have been added.


You will see in this link, the index as you suggested moves these lines to about half way down the page.

you have about 20 of these... looks like copied and pasted from a WORD DOCUMENT.. each one of those adds a space to something... and your javascripted news feed is another source of contention..

copy and paste text to notepad..clear all that **** out and then copy back to bv.. NEVER USE WORD for html for web pages.

How am I suppose to add the space if it doesn't come from the " "?

How does that mess up the page because aren't they just basic html?

Also, I'm not sure if this helps or not, but the code that was brought out up there is a text box. I didn't write that code, so the code was not written in word so the **** that was refered to was done by the program!

I am not quite clear on what you are asking.....is it about the example box and the form boxes moving ?

Yeah I did that as an example. But yeah on bluevoda I put items where I want them and when I preview or publish them they are not at the same spot.

You really dont need all those spaces.. Just use more text boxes.. if thats what you used to generate it... instead of stretching it..spacing and laying images over the top. I think because bv uses absolute positioning.. you add all those spaces.. plus image spaces doing it that way.. I could be wrong. Ive never seen that before using bv alone.

Are you trying to put that marquee inside the text area form box?

Try removing that sentry login script you have there and see if that solves your issues.
