How to transfer a website to a friend...

    Hi,
I'm sure this is probably very evident, but in thinking it over, I'm not really sure what the best way is.....

The situation is that I am going to design a simple website for my friend, who will then want to open her own account and publish it.

She will be sending me photos, etc. and I plan to use my BV program to get something together for her. Then what?

Will I be able to send her the files, so she can publish them. (she will have downloaded the program by then). But I don't think the photos will come up on her computer, unless maybe they were filed in the same location. Adding to that, I'm not sure what OS she uses.

Is there a simple answer to this?

    Thank you!

Like I mentioned to another participant of these forums,
there is a technical way and there is not-so technical.

I personally always use the non-technical method and that is:

You or your friend have to invest some money.
Your local computer store should have a 4GB USB flash drive
for less than $20 bucks. I don't know how much space you would
need for her photos but generally 4GB should be more than enough
at least for now. You can use it for a lot of other things as well.

Create another directory with her name under bluevoda on your
    own hard disk.

Build her pages and save them in her directory. Name her index
    file as index.

Now when her pages are ready and actually tested on your server,
copy the whole directory under bluevoda - files and images -
and under her name over to your USB flash drive.

She can download the latest and greatest BlueVoda Website Builder
on to her disk. That will create bluevoda directory on her drive.

She can then copy from the flash drive over onto her PC hard disk.
The good old Bill Gates Window will confirm the bluevoda directory
    which was created by BV.

And then she can publish her pages to her own server once she gets the login and all those goodies that
    go with it.

This is for those folks who feel at ease with the non-technical things
    in life.

It may sound a little long winded, but uploading all your images to 1 folder called images on your server & linking to them via a bit of code is a good long term bet. It also saves a heap of time if you ever change a computer.

Code that can be placed in a HTML box & adjust to suite your links:

      <img src="http://www.barnetwalks.co.uk/images/main-site/barnet-footpath-sign.jpg" alt="Barnet style of foot path sign" align="top" border="2" style="width:300px;height:403px;">

        Hi guys,
thanks for the info. The non-technical description sounds really technical to me, but when the time comes (any day now!), I will try to follow those steps. You may hear back from me on that one!
and the one-folder for images, is of course, best.
        Thank you again!

          Shafi,
after printing out and re-reading your instructions, I'm not as confused! It sounds like the way I would have done it myself, were I all on my own!
          thanks
