delete bulk emails using control panel

I have just been alerted to the fact we have been receiving a spam email which has been stored in our default email account. I have accessed our account using Horde and squirrel mail and see we have over 150,000 mails in the inbox. I can only delate a page at a time which takes an enormous amount of time. How can I delate all the messages in the inbox in one go. I have tried using "show all" in squirrel but due to the number of mails the page will not open due to lack of memory. The most I can see on one page is 200.

In Horde you can do this.. you can display up to 100 at a time and tick one box to select them all then click delete. you must also PURGE Them off the server.

Hi Karen,

I have been doing this but owing to the number of mails (150,000+), deleting 100 at a time is over 1500 times we have to manually delete. Is there a way we can delete them all at once. I have tried doing this by going to inbox > folders > marking inbox folder > delete. It begins the process but then seems to fail because of the sheer number of mails in the folder.

OK,

Have solved it.

99% of the messages were from one sourse with the same details. I searched in Horde related details and then when the results were complete then selected the list and deleted then purged. This left me with only a couple of hundred to be deleted in the normal way.

If this post is of help to anyone else in the future it would have been worth the hours of head scratching.

I misread it.. sorry.. i thought it said 150.. yes use that lil search demon.. saves LOTS of headaches and will group them together and mass purge.
