I am helping a friend with a site that is selling downloadable plans. Can this be done in Blue Voda or should he go to Soho Launch? He does not want to download plans until payment is made and he wants the bare minimum of maintenance on his site.

You can use either Blue Voda or Soho.

BlueVoda is more flexible but you will have to install an ecommerce software like OsCommerce etc., which can be installed via Fantastico Deluxe in your cPanel.
