How to get re-designed site indexed for Google etc??

I have redesigned my site and completely removed or renamed all the pages.

How do I get the old pages "un-indexed" by the search engines and he re-index my new pages.

Specific instructions would be rally helpful

    Thank you.

Just remove all old pages & make sure you have no links to them on any new pages. Redo your site map & check its OK before publishing by removing or adding url's if needed to the list. Then google will pick up on it with the next visit. You can resubmit your site map to Google, as long as its not been done in a wile. (If not just let it propagate naturally with google next visit)

      Ok thanks for the info.

Will those spider bot crawler thingy's recognise the changes too? Or do I need to do something with them?

Yes! they will auto update on the visit. You may get some of the old pages showing up with the SE's until they clear you.
        Regards Chris.

Ok thanks, whilst ive got you here, I might as well ask you rather than start a new thread.

Really dumb question. My index page was saved with a .html extension but in order to use the single menu page, ive had to change it to .php

When I type in my website address, it defaults to the .html

How do I get it to go to the .php?

Hi Rowena, In case Chris is not around, the web by default always looks for index.html first. To force it it to return the index.php version just go into your ftp manager and delete the html version.

As long as your domain name is not changed, the bots will be back to index your new pages.
