    Members login question

    Hi,

    I was able to create a members login area (thanks tutorials!). Now I want to know if it will be possible to display the name of the member as something like: Welcome "members name" at the top of the page as soon as the member logs in. I know it is automatically generated when using Joomla, can one do this with BV.

    Regards

    Re: Members login question

    You can do it easily for the username but not for the real name.

    The following is valid for all pages, which MUST be .php:

    Add this code in the start of page:

    <?php
    session_start();
    $username = "guest.";
    if ($_SESSION['username'] != ""){
    $username = $_SESSION['username'];
    }
    ?>

    Now add this text in your page, in the location where you need it:

    Welcome '.$username.'

    Format the text as you like.

    Right click the text, select HTML and add the following codes:

    In the Before Tag:
    <?php
    echo'

    In the After Tag:

    ';
    ?>
