problem with internet explorer

Hi,
I have published a website and can see it fine on firefox, but when I open it with explorer I only see some of the pictures. The more I refresh the page the more images I get to see. What could be causing this?

Its not the problem solver, but i get the same thing with IE. But your front page is very slow loading & is nearly 5000kb in total & should be nearer the 200kb. This is a lot worse on other pages. All the images need to be reduced across the whole site. There is a link in my signature that may help.

I don't know whether this helps but when I open my site up with IE, a small picture of a broken piece of paper appears at the end of the url bar. The message says "Compatibility view"....

For page size! Main menu>Tools>Page weight.
