  • Problems viewing website in Safari and Firefox

I recently published my website www.freebordturkey.com but am experiencing problems when viewing the site on both safari and Firefox.

Both browsers are changing the fonts used in the site (Smudger LET and Arial)
Safari is also moving the links on the index page (www.freebordturkey.com/index.html)
Firefox is displaying a plugin download required banner on all computers.

The problems persist on all the pages of the website.
    Can someone please help?

In my research I cannot find evidence that Smudger LET is a web safe font.
You will have to find an alternative font.
    Google web safe fonts.

      Thanks for responding.
I have used Smudger LET for the banner at the top of the site and this seems to be working fine on all browsers.
Any clues as to why Arial would be changing and why I am getting the plugin banner appear on Firefox?

        What variation of Arial ??
Is the banner a logo generated image?
        What plugin request

Re: Problems viewing website in Safari and Firefox

          Just the standard Arial.
The banner was created using the banner tool on VodaHost.
When viewing on Firefox there is a plugin request appearing at the bottom of the screen in the middle. You can also see the black outline of the request in IE

You have an element on your page that requires additional software to view properly.
I get the plugin request also.
What additional media are you using?

I have a link to a Vimeo video but that is it.
Do you know of a font similar to Smudger LET that is a web safe font?

Re: Problems viewing website in Safari and Firefox

That's the issue. It requires Adobe Flash 10. Not everyone has that on their computer. It appears as if you don't have it either.
You can use any font you want in the banner tool as it publishes as an image and not text.

The video comes directly from Vimeo and is on a Flash player.

Re: Problems viewing website in Safari and Firefox

All my company marketing has been done with Smudger LET.
Does anybody know of a similar font that is web safe for all browsers?
I am also still having the problem with links piling on top of each other within Safari.
                    This is happening on www.freebordturkey.com/index.html
Any ideas of what is causing this and how to prevent it?
