    protecting a single web-page

Hello from Keith at www.wvnet.co.uk. I have allocated a page to a member of my team, to give him private access to track his projects.

Although he and I are the only ones who know the page ID, I would be much happier if I could secure it with a login and password. I'n not sure it justifies a database, although I tried that (and failed), and after wrestling with the "insert login" menu, I give up. Is it possible, and if so, how do I go about it?

    Many thanks
    Keith

Insert > Login > Protect page
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

Sorry I gave you wrong information...

It's Insert > Login > Single Page Protection
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

        Re: protecting a single web-page

Hi, I'm back after a spell abroad, thinking I had worked out what was wrong. But I'm still stuck. I have published a page named " login" with single page protection (password 'letmein') and placed a link called "login" on my homepage. I've tried it as both .php and .html, but no joy. It always goes straight to the page without any protection. I'm stumped. What am I missing?

Page saved as login.php. Link calls up login.php. Still goes direct without protection. There must be something else. Should I be using v11.4?

I've just tried inserting "page protection" (access denied). That doesn't work either. Something is missing, but I can't see what.

Doesn't look like anyone out there can help. Disappointing, but perhaps I'll try Support.
