linking to 'word pad'

What is the best way to link to wordpad files?
Do I upload them to public_ftp?

I have some WP files I would like to present on a
page of my site. I just need to provide a button
or bar and link to each individual wordpad file.
Is this feasable or is it a problem since they're
not 'html'?
